I tried probably 50 pairs of jeans. You guys I was on the hunt for the most perfect pair. A pair that was classic, a pair that was flattering to my backside, a pair that just made me feel so good. As a mom I NEED a lot from my clothing. Much more than before. Today as mom I crawl on the floor, I’m picking up a little every 5 minutes, I’m climbing in and out of the car and running errands. In all of my capacities I need to look fabulous, and not have to pull and tug at my clothing. I tried jeans on that were $150 (I’m looking at you Joes Jeans!) to Madewell jeans, Free People Jeans, American Eagle Jeans, Abercrombie and Fitch Jeans and so many more.
Best Jean if you love Leggings. (Which who doesn’t love leggings?) American Eagle Dream Jean is gonna be your jam. They are at a higher price point, they have a LOT of spandex if you are curious on how to keep them fitting there best check out this blog post here. They are a high rise so they stay on my body perfect. I tried several American Eagle jeans in various sizes these were my favorite for pocket placement, and distressing. I would say these run TTS but if you’re in between sizes go down. They are very stretchy. These jeans are great for my ladies who have bigger booties because the jean fits to you, you no longer have to fit your bottom you can just fit the waist.
Best jean to make you feel like a blogger…Free people busted knee jeans are for you! I love these because I like a good ripped jean. They’re tight on with minimal stretch but I can still sit and play with Dax because of the room in the knee. The wash is perfect and great for spring transition! I love these I would definitely size up one and if you don’t like ankle jeans and if you are tall (like 5’6″ and up) I would get the tall version. For me I ended up being most happy with 29L.
My favorite jean overall for price, quality and fit was Curvy Skinny Jean by Ann Taylor LOFT. I got these on sale for $35, they have some stretch but still feel like denim which I like. The wash is a great for day or night the pockets sit perfectly on my backside. They are not too high, too low or two wide. They are a perfect everyday jean. I want to mention here that if you struggle with a “gap” in the small of your back in your jeans. You will love this pair. I purchase the curvy ones because they come in at the waist more than their straight pair and give you a little bit more room in the thigh. I believe they run large I purchased a 27/4 and they fit perfect.
It’s been a while! I’ve been knee deep in all of my roles, being a landlord, a wife, a mom and a student. Needless to say things have been crazy! I went on the hunt to find the most perfect pair of jeans for moms and I found three really good contestants all at different price points. You can check that post out here.
But if you already have your favorite pair and want to keep them looking and fitting amazing take a look below!
Stop washing them every time you wear them. Seriously do don’t wash your hair everyday don’t wash your jeans every single time you wear them! Shoot for a wash about every 10 wears.
When you wash them wash them in cold water with like colors in addition turn the inside out to keep the dye inside
If they are brand new put two spoonfuls of salt to set the dye
When you go to put your jeans in the dryer..DON’T. If you have jeans that have any kind of stretch they probably have spandex in them. When you dry them you cook that molecule and it ruins the shape of the jean!
Hang or lay flat to dry outside out of the sun. They will be crunchy but it goes away as soon as you wear them! Promise!
I hope this helps you prolong the life and love of your favorite jeans! And remember if you are still on the hunt for the perfect pair check out this post here.
