Hello Friends! Today I wanted to talk to you guys about how I have learned to shop online since becoming an instagram influencer! We spend a lot of time attached to cell phones and our laptops. We are always on the hunt for great bargains, new items and new trends just for you guys! Let me tell you it’s hard work!! We always have to be ahead of the curve! Here are some of my BEST tips for staying on trend, and on budget ONLINE!
Top Trends RIGHT NOW for Fall and going into Winter are chenille sweaters (they are so, so soft), oversized sweaters, color blocked everything, animal prints (leopard, cheetah), browns on blacks, resin jewelry, layered everything, corduroy anything, overall dresses, velvet.
Know the retailers return policy before shopping. There are tons of great retails out there but nothing hurts the shopping more than paying tons of money in shipping. If you have to ship it there and ship it back you’re wasting your money! Great places I love to shop that have great return policy are Nordstrom, ASOS, Target, and of course Amazon! I use this to help me ensure the best fit if I’m trying a new a brand or a new style. Often times I will purchase two sizes and choose the best fit for what I want. If I want an oversized look or more tailored look; then I return the other size that didn’t work.
Know your measurements! Typically this means, bust, waist, and inseam. This is knowledge when you go to click on the size chart! This will help you determine what will fit best. I am typically a size 6 but I know at Loft I’m a 4 and American Eagle I’m an 8. I know this because I’ve checked out the size chart before buying. (I would also do this with your feet if you float between shoes sizes like me!) I’m actually a small but my arms are long so I size up but often times that means the body of the top is too big. So knowing my bust and waist size helps me judge HOW much larger is the medium than the small.
Sign up for emails the places you love to shop. For me it’s Shopbob, Nordstrom, LOFT and Abercrombie and Fitch. When new arrivals come in I shop like crazy I put everything I love into my cart and then I leave it! I then wait for it to go on sale. If I still love it, I buy it, if I’m iffy then I leave it. Often times jeans will be on sale but tops wont be. So I will just buy the jeans and wait on the tops. Make sense? A lot of retailers now are also doing text alerts! This is so nice if I haven’t had time to get on my email for the day.
These are just a few of the shopping hacks I’ve discovered since starting my instagram account. Let me know in the comments what else helps you online shop!
Love,
Larissa
